WASHINGTON (WKRN) – A man from Tennessee is one of the nation’s finalists for this year’s White House Fellowship.

Daniel Paine, of Nashville, was named among just a few dozen people who made the distinguished list this year.

According to White House officials, Paine is the Vice President of Operations and Business Development of Quizlet, an online learning tool.

Each finalist has “demonstrated remarkable professional achievement early in their careers, a commitment to public service, and the leadership skills needed to succeed at the highest levels of the Federal government.”

The finalists have advanced through a highly competitive selection process, including a comprehensive written application and regional interviews with civic leaders in eight different cities across the country.

They will be evaluated by the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships in Washington, DC from Thursday, June 9 until Sunday, June.
