MANCHESTER, Tenn. (WKRN) — The four-day Bonnaroo music festival officially begins in Manchester on Thurday, and tens of thousands of music lovers have begun descending on Tennessee.
For those in Middle Tennessee not attending the festival, the primary concern is traffic down Interstate 24 through the area of Manchester.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation has posted an alert on their SmartWay map, alerting drivers to the special event. Delays are expected in both east and westbound lanes around mile marker 112.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation is on-hand to help ease the flow of traffic and direct festival goers into Bonnaroo’s gates, which opened Wednesday night ahead of Thursday’s performances.
