MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – An illegal credit card skimming device was found inside a pump at a Mt. Juliet gas station.
Police said it was located by a maintenance crew when the pump was malfunctioning at Daily’s Shell on North Mt. Juliet Road.
Detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
Authorities said patrons that used pump No. 1 between May 27 and June 1 are encouraged to check their bank statements for signs of fraudulent activity.
If any fraudulent charges are noticed, then you should file a police report with the Mt. Juliet Police Department and notify your bank.
Police noted that filing a report can assist investigators in gaining additional evidence of credit card fraud.
Anyone with any information regarding this crime is encouraged to call the Mt. Juliet Police Department at 615-754-2550.
According to a press release, the Mt. Juliet Police Department went and checked all gas stations in March and April due to skimmers being found in other cities in Middle Tennessee.
