NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man shot himself twice near downtown Nashville before driving into the heart of the city Tuesday night.
According to Metro police, he was shot at the Cheatham Place homes off Ninth Avenue near Rosa Parks Boulevard before 8 p.m.
The victim admitted to police he accidentally shot himself twice in the leg before driving himself to Second Avenue near Union Street where he stopped after accidentally turning the wrong way on a one-way street.
Police said the victim’s injuries are considered critical. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
Further details weren’t immediately known as the investigation is ongoing.
