SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – The historic Sam Davis Home in Smyrna remains closed after last week’s deadly Blue Angels crash.

The pilot, Capt. Jeff Kuss was killed at the scene.

“It landed in our backyard. I mean, it’s on our property, and the smoke was so great, and the fire was so great. The smell was horrendous,” Tiffany Johnson, Executive Director of the home, told News 2.

The home will remain closed until further notice as the power remains out after lines were downed in the crash.

Johnson stressed that organizers will have to reschedule some programs and summer events due to the unexpected closure.

She also stated the inconvenience pales in comparison to what the Blue Angels family is dealing with, saying her heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to them.
