WHITES CREEK, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hundreds of people braved the heat for the Camp Nash held at the Fontanel mansion and proceeds went to the Special Forces Charitable Trust.
The event offered food, music and activities for the whole family.
Every penny went to the trust, which provides support for the Green Berets and their families, including flying family members to a fallen soldier’s funeral.
“Soldiers die and the government pays for a few people to show up but they have extended family; they have grandparents or the like so we’ll step in to do that from that standpoint,” said the trust’s executive director, David Guernsay.
Big & Rich, Thompson Square and Parmalee preformed.
This is the first Camp Nash, but the Fontanel said it plans to hold the event again next Memorial Day for the same charitable cause.
