NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police arrested a man who they say is a repeat domestic violence offender.
Bobby Cotton Jr. , 29, was taken into custody Friday afternoon.
According to police, he broke into his estranged wife’s home and struck her, causing injuries to her face. He then reportedly drove her to Skyline Medical Center for treatment.
When Cotton saw a Metro officer, he sped off and crashed his car not far from the hospital.
He then took off on foot, eluding capture until later Friday.
Cotton was wanted on warrants issued in two other incidents involving the same victim.
He’s accused of forcing her into his car on April 20, but she was able to call police from a convenience store. Authorities say one week earlier, he allegedly sent her threatening text messages.
Cotton has previous convictions for domestic assault and obtaining prescription drugs by fraud.
