NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was shot multiple times early Friday morning at the Cayce Homes in east Nashville.

It happened around 1 a.m. on South Seventh Street.

Neighbors told News 2 they heard four to five shots fired and people running before finding the victim lying in a courtyard with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical center where he was listed in critical condition.

No suspect description or additional information was immediately released.

Earlier this month, The Martha O’Bryan Center and the Tennessee Performing Arts Commission offered workshops with visual artists, musicians and dancers at the Cayce homes for an art festival.

Metro Councilman Brett Withers has been working with the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency on revitalizing the more than 700-unit Cayce Place, a project that began three years ago.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
