NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Gov. Bill Haslam says he wants to talk with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump about education, health care and whom he might appoint to lead federal agencies if elected.

Speaking to reporters in Nashville on Friday, Haslam said “who you put into departments and the philosophy of those departments really matters.” And he said its importance is often underestimated.

Haslam said two weeks ago that he and a group of Republican governors were planning to meet with Trump. On Friday, he said the group is still trying to schedule that meeting, but he hopes it will happen before the Republican National Convention in July.

Haslam has not endorsed Trump. He endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio before Tennessee’s March primary and has raised concerns in the past about Trump’s rhetoric.
