MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – Residents will have a chance to honor fallen heroes as part of a Memorial Day display in Wilson County.
A healing field of American flags fills one acre at the corner of Mt. Juliet Road and Division Street next to the Mt. Juliet train station.
Supporters can sponsor a flag for $30 to honor a military hero. An opening ceremony will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. with the flags staying up until Memorial Day.
The Journey Home Project, which was co-founded by country legend Charlie Daniels, connects donors with organizations that help veterans returning home from duty.
Daniels is also a co-sponsor of the healing field display.
