Multiple departments respond to fire at GM plant

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) – Firefighters were called to the General Motors plant in Spring Hill early Friday morning.

The Spring Hill Fire Department reported they were called to the plant just after midnight after an air handling unit on the roof caught fire.

Sprinklers had extinguished the fire but a good amount of smoke remained in the building.

All employees were safely evacuated before emergency crews arrived.

The Columbia Fire Department, Maury County Fire Department and Maury County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in the emergency response.

No additional information was immediately released.
