Police said, due to his speed, Cloninger was unable to avoid colliding with a 2002 GMC Yukon that was pulling a trailer and was attempting to make a left turn onto Eugenia Avenue.

According to police, Cloninger attempted to brake but lost control of his motorcycle just prior to the accident.

Cloninger died at the scene and police say speed played a role in the crash.
