ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (WKRN) – Officials have found the body of a boater who went missing while fishing in the Cumberland River Saturday.
Adam Vongsa, 33, of Antioch, was located Sunday afternoon. Crews spotted the body earlier in the day, but they had trouble recovering it because of a strong current and wind conditions.
Vongsa was fishing with two friends Saturday morning at the base of the Cheatham Dam when they were caught in turbulent water. Officials say the dam was letting water in, which knocked the men out of the boat.
The other two men were rescued and transported to TriStar Ashland City Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
