NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Nashville dad who saved money to buy his son a high school graduation gift is now pleading with the public for help to get that gift back.

Russ Penuell bought a 1992 Chevy Silverado for his son who is graduating in Texas later this month.

He took it to the AAMCO on Nolensville Pike for service, but a man caught on camera appears to have stolen the truck Sunday afternoon.

The video shows the man bust out the passenger window, jump through the window and spend time behind the wheel of the truck. He then drives off without ever using a set of keys.

“We work hard for our money, and we want to enjoy the things we put our money into,” Penuell told News 2. “When some clown comes up and takes the vehicle that upsets you. You feel violated and you just get mad.”

AAMCO told News 2, they’re only responsible for items and vehicles left inside their garage. Penuell’s truck was in their parking lot.

“I don’t blame anyone I just want the truck back,” he said.

Anyone who recognizes the man, see the pickup truck or recognize the white four-door sedan that dropped off the alleged thief should contact Metro police at 615-862-8600.
