NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man died after he fell from a moving tractor-trailer in south Nashville early Wednesday morning.

Police told News 2 Jeremy Green, 39, climbed on the back of the truck between two trailers around 2 a.m. on Murfreesboro Pike in front of the Drake Motel.

Green reportedly fell off when the driver made a left turn from Paris Avenue onto Murfreesboro and was subsequently run over.

The 39-year-old, who police say was homeless, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

The driver of the truck did not know the man was riding on it, according to authorities. Police said he initially left the scene before witnesses flagged down another truck from the same company and told that driver what happened.

The company’s dispatcher then contacted the truck driver, who returned to the scene.

Murfreesboro Road was closed from Fesslers Lane to Elm Hill Pike for a short time while officers investigated the scene.
