ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A former police officer out of East Tennessee was arrested on rape and misconduct charges Friday.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they began investigating then-officer Cassen Jackson-Garrison in August 2015 after a complaint he was having sexual contact with a minor.
At the time, he was working as a police officer for the Oak Ridge Police Department.
During their investigation, the TBI says agents learned the 31-year-old had sexual conduct with a teen in July 2015.
Jackson-Garrison was indicted this year on May 3 by a grand jury in Anderson County.
He was reportedly taken into custody Friday morning in Mt. Juliet then transported to Anderson County where he was booked into jail on $25,000 bond.
Jackson-Garrison was terminated from his position with the Oak Ridge Police Department around the time the investigation began in August 2015.
