MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fourth grader was briefly left behind at a Murfreesboro playground Thursday after a field trip to the nearby Stones River National Battlefield.

Lisa Trail, Director of Communications with Murfreesboro City Schools, told News 2 it happened at the Kid’s Castle Playground on Golf Lane off NW Broad Street.

The girl ventured off to the bathroom as the bus was loading to leave, leading to her being left behind.

The bus was reportedly gone for 3 to 5 minutes before returning to get the girl, who is a student at Mitchell Neilson Primary School.
