BELLE MEADE, Tenn. (WKRN) –A woman who witnessed a crash and stopped to help was held on suspicion of DUI after authorities suspected she had been drinking.
Investigators told News 2 a driver lost control of his car on a curve on Harding Place near Westover Avenue in Belle Meade and hit a pole.
The impact flipped the car, took out the power pole and knocked down power lines.
Neither the driver nor his passenger was hurt.
Authorities said Alisha Adams was driving behind the car that flipped stopped to help.
When police officers showed up, they suspected that she had been drinking.
Officers tell News 2 she failed a field sobriety test and was held on suspicion of DUI.
Police kept the road closed while they waited for NES crews.
The driver of the car that hit the pole has not been charged.
