NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 45-year-old man is jailed after police discovered a marijuana grow operation at his Nashville home on Sunday night.
An officer, who was on routine patrol, said he detected a strong odor of marijuana in the 4800 block of Lynn Drive.
The officer initiated an investigative stop when the homeowner, identified as William Westbrooks, left.
During that time, police said Westbrooks allegedly admitted to having marijuana inside and consented to have his home searched.
Detectives discovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement and seized 85 marijuana plants, more than five pounds of processed weed and 49 doses of human growth hormone/steroids, drug paraphernalia and a .38 caliber handgun.
Westbrooks is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana for resale in a drug free school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and felon in possession of a weapon.
He remains jailed on a $92,000 bond.
Authorities said he has a previous drug conviction in Williamson County.
