La Vergne police search for smash-and-grab suspect

LA VERGENE, Tenn. (WKRN) – La Vergne police are looking for a man who stole a cash register from a market earlier this week.

According to a press release, the crime occurred Tuesday morning at 1:07 a.m. at Larro’s Market on 415 Old Nashville Highway.

The thief was caught on surveillance video breaking the glass door and grabbing the register before taking off on foot.

Dispatchers were notified by the alarm company shortly after the crime, but the suspect was in the store for less than a minute and was gone when they arrived.

The thief, whose race is unknown, is described as a male who stands between 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds. His shoes were black, while the soles were white surrounded by black trim.

Authorities say he struggled to unplug the cord of the cash register and does not appear to be very strong.
