Child rescued from creek, flown to Vanderbilt hospital

HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A small child was rescued while playing in a Hickman County creek Thursday evening.

Sheriff Randal Ward told News 2 it happened in the 6000 block of Hassel Creek near the Old Tarkington store.

Ward said the child’s older sister ran to get help. It’s unclear exactly what happened at this time.

The victim was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. An update on the child’s condition was not immediately known.

Further details have yet to be released.
