NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The week, one of the most fun, most loved musicals of all time returns to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
“Mamma Mia!” tells the story of one girl’s search for her father as her wedding approaches.
The show is told through and inspired by the music of 70s Swedish sensation ABBA.
Kyra Belle Johnson, who plays Sophie, said, “ABBA made their music to be fun, wild, and not be taken too seriously, so if you build a storyline and plot around that, that just makes the story absolutely ridiculous and super fun.”
“It gets people going and really invested in the characters and the story. But at the same time, it’s a jukebox musical, so it’s people remembering the songs of ABBA,” Johnson added.
If you don’t have your tickets yet, there are still plenty of chances to see “Mamma Mia!” during its return engagement at TPAC.
There are shows every evening through Sunday night with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays as well.
