NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Former Brentwood Academy star Jalen Ramsey thought he was going to the Titans until they traded away the first pick to the Los Angeles Rams.
The Florida State cornerback is in Chicago for the Draft and told News 2 he was shocked when the Titans made trade.
“One hundred percent, honestly I feel like they had it in their mind they were narrowing it down and I would’ve been there pick; I really do believe that in my heart, but everything happens for reason,” he said.
The Titans picked up two first round, two second round and two third round picks in the trade.
Ramsey said that haul made it impossible to hold a grudge, “After I saw the deal they got, you can’t be mad at them for that.”
The Titan spent a lot of time with Ramsey in the valuation process, but General Manager John Robinson would have to pull a rabbit out of the hat Thursday night to find a way to get Ramsey in two-tone blue.
Ramsey just knows that move is out of his hands.
“It’s not up to me, so you know if they do that, that’s what they do, but it’s not up to me. I don’t know, I’ll be happy,” he told News 2.
The NFL Draft starts Thursday at 7 p.m. The Titans currently hold the 15th overall selection.
