Man wanted after video shows him kicking Metro police officer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are searching for a man caught on video kicking an officer Tuesday night at the Cayce Homes.

The video was of the attack on Officer Matthew Cammarn, who responded to the are of South Seventh Street after reports of a fight. Click here to view raw video of the attack.

Cammarn attempted to arrest 22-year-old Brian Shannon for assault when Shannon resisted, bringing both men to the ground in a scuffle.

As the scuffle went on, several members of a crowd began pulling, pushing, kicking and hitting Officer Cammarn. One of the men has been identified as a 17-year-old juvenile, who was charged and placed into juvenile detention.

Metro police say the man in the attached surveillance photos also kicked Cammarn.

He appears to have long braids pulled to the back of his head. He wore black clothing and the soles of his shoes appear to be green.
