LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two people were killed and five others injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 West in Wilson County Saturday night.
It happened near mile marker 238 in Lebanon around 10 p m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported seven people were traveling westbound in a Chevrolet Suburban when the vehicle lost control and rolled onto its side, landing in the middle of the roadway.
According to the THP, 32-year-old Jessica Taylor and Jonathan Lustre, 28, both of Elmwood, Tennessee, were killed in the crash. They were the only occupants of the vehicle who were not wearing seat belts.
Officials did not immediately have information on the extent of injuries of the other passengers.
The incident report states that the driver was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and toxicology reports are pending.
The westbound lanes of I-40 were closed for more than three hours, according to witnesses, but they reopened early Sunday morning.
