Police: Man arrested after trying to run over security at Nashville nightclub

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested after allegedly trying to run over a security guard at a south Nashville nightclub early Saturday morning.

It happened at Club Premium, located at 833 Murfreesboro Pike, around 3:30 a.m.

Police told News 2 the security guard kicked several people out of the nightclub after they were involved in a fight.

When the altercation continued outside, police were called to the scene after shots were reportedly fired.

The security guard attempted to detain one of the unruly patrons by handcuffing him and placing him inside his personal vehicle until police arrived.

While the guard was detaining the patron, another person involved in the fight reportedly tried to hit the security guard with his car.

Meanwhile, the patron detained in the security guard’s vehicle was able to drive the car away.

When police arrived, they were able to take the man who attempted to run down the security guard into custody after he crashed his vehicle across the street.

No one was seriously hurt in the incident.

No information was released on what happened to the man who stole the security guard’s vehicle.
