NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Nashville Predators wrapped up their home season with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators trailed 2-1 with only 18 seconds to play when Filip Forsberg tipped home a shot from Roman Josi to tie it up and send the game into overtime.
This was the 33rd goal of the season for Forsberg, which ties the franchise record set by Jason Arnott.
Josi won it overtime only 19 seconds later when he beat Mike Smith for the game winner.
The Predators actually trailed 2-0 headed into the third period. Team Captain Shea Weber finally got them on the board when he blasted home a one-timer from the wing on the power play.
It was Weber’s 20th goal of the season and 14th on the power play. Fourteen power play goals also ties a franchise record.
The Predators wrap up the regular season Saturday night at Dallas and then await their playoff pairing.
