CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Campus police are searching for a man they say is accused of running up behind a woman and slapping her on the buttocks Tuesday night.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. as the woman was walking toward the library at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville.

According to a campus alert on the school’s web site, the man fled from the area of the library north towards the bookstore.

The suspect is described as a black male around five feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, red sweatpants and a gray hat with a red brim.

Video of the suspect can be found on the APSU Police Department’s YouTube page here.

Last week, a female student also reported that a man attacked her from behind as she walked near the Browning Building near College Street on campus.

Authorities believe the same suspect is responsible in both cases.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call campus police at 931-221-7786.
