NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The search for a man who went missing last weekend at Percy Priest Lake continued into its third day Monday.

Jeremy Cross, 36, was last seen Saturday evening while canoeing when choppy waves caused his boat to capsize.

His 10-year-old son and family friend were also in the boat but wearing life jackets, according to authorities. Cross was last seen trying to put one on.

Water rescue crews searched all day Sunday to no avail.

The search continued Monday, when it was considered a recovery effort instead of a rescue.

“We’re not going to give up; we’re here to find Jeremy,” said Kaleb Stratton with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). “Like I’ve said before, just wear a life jacket. We had three people go out on the water; two were wearing life jackets and with us right now.”

Crews ended their search Monday afternoon after 3 p.m.

On Tuesday, the TWRA, Office Emergency Management, and Metro-Nashville police helicopter will be back out to search.
