Raccoon caused power outage that affected 8,000 in South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Nashville Electric Service tells News 2 a raccoon caused a power outage in South Nashville Monday morning, cutting power to more than 8,000 customers.

NES dispatched a crew to the substation on Nolensville Road shortly after getting word of the outage. A spokesperson with NES said power would be restored shortly.

The outage was first reported at 3:36 early Monday morning. At one point, at least 8,265 customers lost electricity due to the outage.

NES customers can report outages by calling 615-234-0000.
