FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – When you wander through 2,500 square feet in the new Herban Market, you will find a little bit of everything, all of it with one thing in mind: your family’s health.
Owner Ashlea Hogancamp says the stores mission is simple.
“We want it to be a place that you can come and find organic or organically grown. If we know the farmer, that is the absolute best way to know your food,” she told News 2. “How the food was raised, what the food was fed, to know that you’re getting what you’re paying for so it goes back to that value.”
Just a few years ago, Ashlea and her husband Matt Hogancamp were living the corporate dream, both working jobs in Houston, Texas.
Ashlea said they weren’t satisfied.
“At the end of each day we always joked, ‘What are we going to do with the rest of our lives?’ This, it feels like a mission. We sold everything we had, we quit our jobs. We had a five-month-old baby when we decided to do it, which is crazy! We moved our whole family to Franklin,” she explained to News 2.
That was October of 2014. A year later, Herban Market opened its doors. They offer 66 flavors of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, all displayed on a tasting bar.
They offer over 90 different herbs for medicinal or culinary use. They sell local meats, and there’s even more.
“We have greens. We have a full juice bar with only organic juices that we make [as well as] organic smoothies. We have just about everything. We want it to be a place you can come in and hopefully find everything you need,” Ashlea said.
She also told News 2 one of their favorite parts of their new life has been their customers.
“It’s reinforced what we’re doing, why we made the crazy decision that we did, each day when we interact with our customers.”
Their shop is located on the corner of Moores Lane and Franklin Road at 3078 Maddux Way, Suite 300. They are opening Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
