NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police said an accused child rapist free on bond and awaiting trial has been arrested “on a host of new charges” involving child pornography.
John Tracy Jr., 64, was indicted in 2013 on multiple counts of rape, aggravated sexual battery, and sexual exploitation of a minor.
He’s accused of committing the crimes against his former girlfriend’s 9-year-old daughter.
Tracy posted a $100,000 bond and was released from jail.
Metro police say earlier this year a Sex Crimes detective learned Tracy engaged in numerous electronic conversations with the victim’s mother.
A search warrant was executed on his computer and other devices to determine whether coercion of the victim or her mother was attempted, according to a press release.
During an analysis of his equipment, a detective allegedly discovered images of the 9-year-old being sexually assaulted.
Metro police said there were hundreds of other photographs depicting child pornography as well.
New arrest warrants were obtained and Tracy now faces eight counts of sexual exploitation of minors.
He was re-arrested Wednesday at his home on Mimosa Drive and is currently in the Metro jail in lieu of $360,000 bond.
