Man shot in face outside Smyrna bar; Suspect wanted

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – Arrest warrants have been issued for a 29-year-old man after another man was shot in the face early Thursday morning in the parking lot of a Smyrna bar.

Police said both the victim and suspect, now identified as Dejavone Woods, had been at the Singha Bar and Restaurant on Sam Ridley Parkway prior to the 12:40 a.m. shooting.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he remains in critical condition. His identity has not been released.

Woods is now wanted for attempted criminal homicide.

The motive and circumstances of the shooting remain unclear at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities said Woods is described as a black male with thick dreadlocks. He’s around 6 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build.

He was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt and light-colored baseball cap.

Police believe he left the bar in a light-colored 2004 Cadillac CTS and that he may have a girlfriend in the Smyrna area.

Police said Woods may have changed his appearance by cutting his hair.

He is considered armed and dangerous.
