Man arrested after woman’s body found inside Smyrna home

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – A suspect has been arrested for the murder of a woman who was found dead inside a Rutherford County home Friday.

Smyrna police reported 45-year-old Kimberly Allen was found deceased inside a home on Branch Trail around 9:15 a.m.

The investigation led officers to an acquaintance of Allen’s, Eric Ellis, as a possible suspect in her murder.

Ellis reportedly confessed to the murder of Allen on Friday evening.

Ellis was booked into the Rutherford County jail and charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, aggravated burglary, theft between $10,000 to $60,000 and fraudulent use of a credit card.

His bond was set at $1,200,000.
