Springfield man arrested in connection to 2014 fatal hit-and-run

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) – An arrest has been made in the case of a pedestrian hit and killed by a car in Springfield in 2014.

Ronnie Gainous has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death, according to the Springfield Police Chief David Thompson.

The crash happened just after 5:15 p.m. on Memorial Boulevard in front of Rod’s Car Care Center on Dec. 30, 2014.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Joseph Moss, who had been jogging along the road.

Gainous posted bond after being held at the Robertson County jail.

According to the chief, the investigation is still underway and more arrests are expected in the case.
