LEBANON, Tenn. (AP) – A school bus driver in Lebanon has been indicted on child sex charges.
News outlets report that 47-year-old Stephen Massey was indicted Thursday on one charge of sexual battery of a child less than 13 years old and two counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
The alleged crimes happened between November and January, while Massey was employed as a bus driver by the Lebanon Special School District.
Lebanon Director of Schools Scott Benson says Massey was fired Jan. 15 for insubordination and neglect of duty. Benson says he received a call Jan. 13 from a concerned parent and began an investigation. He says the investigation revealed some “troubling information” that lead school officials to contact law enforcement.
It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.
