CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police in Clarksville warned homeowners on Monday of a roof repair scheme they believe is tied to workers claiming to be from a contracting company.

Clarksville Police posted to facebook about two separate, but similar, roof repair schemes.

In both incidents, police say men from a company called Legacy Building and Contracting INC showed up at homes, and told residents they were in the neighborhood inspecting roofs for storm damage.

The residents would ask their insurance companies to send roof inspectors, who in both cases said the roofs had been vandalized by cutting tools and had been bent by something other than wind damage.

Clarksville Police say an insurance representative had dealt with similar complaints about the company.

Police say the two incidents happened on March 1 on the 2800 block of Summertree Lane, and on March 9 on the 1200 block of Carnation Court.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 931-645-8477.
