NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – As Vanderbilt University gets ready for their big NCAA Tournament game Tuesday night in Ohio, the Austin Peay Governors are in Des Moines, Iowa, getting ready for their own game.
News 2 caught up with the team as they boarded the plane early Tuesday morning.
The Governors found out over the weekend their first-round tournament game will be against the first-seed Kansas Jayhawks.
“It’s a tall order, great challenge, but we’re looking forward to the challenge. We ended the season playing with a lot of confidence and got a lot of momentum going, so we’re excited about it,” said head coach Dave Loos.
Kansas is favored to win the whole tournament, so it really is a tall order for the Governors.
The two teams take the court Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.
