Tennessee upsets Vanderbilt 67-65 in SEC Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Wade Baldwin’s basket at the buzzer was waived off and 12th-seeded Tennessee shocked fifth-seeded Vanderbilt 67-65 at the SEC Tournament in Nashville Thursday.

After blowing out the Volunteers twice in the regular season, the Commodores found themselves down 34-22 at the half. They rallied to take a pair of leads, the last at 59-58 with 2:40 to play.

Robert Hubbs III beat the buzzer with a jumper with 2:09 left, though, and Tennessee never trailed again.

Vols senior Armani Moore’s three-pointer in the closing minute was the difference and dropped to his knees after hearing the officials’ decision to waive off the Baldwin basket.

Tennessee advances to meet LSU Friday at 2:30 PM.

Vanderbilt (19-13) now has lost two straight and has a long, stressful few days ahead as they await selection Sunday and the NCAA Tournament.
