Metro police trying to find witness of deadly crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro-Nashville police are trying to find a man believed to have left the scene of a deadly two-car crash on Clarksville Pike in March.

It claimed the life of Mary Davis, 65, who died of her injuries after being taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center on March 2.

According to authorities, Davis was driving southbound near Briley Parkway when 46-year-old William Woolverton crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit her car. He told police another vehicle caused him to lose control.

Several witnesses, including Woolverton, remained at the scene. But now investigators are hoping to interview a man who initially stopped but left before they arrived.

He’s described as a middle-aged white man who drives a black pickup truck.
