NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – On the first day of NFL Free Agency, the Tennessee Titans were busy landing a quarterback and a wide receiver.
News 2 has confirmed they have agreed on a contract with former Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews. Multiple reports state it is a three-year deal.
Matthews played his first four seasons in Miami and had his biggest season last year with 43 receptions for 662 yards and four touchdowns.
He had one of his biggest games of the season at Nissan Stadium against the Titans when he went for six receptions and 85 yards in a Dolphins win.
The Titans targeted Matthews because they liked his versatility to play inside and out, his toughness and ability to get open and catch the football.
The Titans also reportedly agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Matt Cassell on a one-year deal.
