NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Tennessee built a 22-point first half lead and blew out Auburn 97-59 in round of the SEC Tournament Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
Armani Moore scored 22 points and Detrick Mostella added 17 as 12th-seeded Volunteers started hot and stayed hot shooting a season-best 59 percent from the field and hitting 11 three-point field goals.
The Volunteers (14-18) raced to a 10-0 lead and stretched the gap to as many as 41 points in ending a four-game losing streak.
Devon Baulkman made four three-pointers for 16 points for Tennessee while Derek Reese had 11 rebounds and nine points.
Tennessee advances to meet Vanderbilt Thursday in Game 2 of the afternoon session. Arkansas meets Florida at noon in Game 1.
