COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 25-year-old parolee has been indicted by a Maury County Grand Jury in connection to two armed robberies in August.

Alfonzo Carter was on supervised parole when authorities allege he robbed the Dollar General Store located at 2490 Nashville Highway shortly before 9 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2015.

Carter allegedly entered the store brandishing a box-cutter style knife and robbed the cash register, according to Columbia police.

A similar robbery occurred the next night at a Dollar General Store in Giles County.

Detectives from Columbia and Giles County linked the crimes and named Carter as a suspect.

He was arrested shortly after the incidents on a parole violation. Carter is currently in custody with TN Department of Corrections serving the remainder of his ten year sentence.

The case was presented to a Grand Jury in February and he was indicted.
