Employee charged with embezzling from Hendersonville business

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An employee of a Hendersonville business has been charged with embezzlement by making fraudulent purchases on business accounts.

Hendersonville police reported 49-year-old Rashel Perkey-Pratt made purchases on various business accounts for more than $10,000.

The staff of the business reported Perkey-Pratt provided fraudulent information on an insurance claim.

Perkey-Pratt reportedly identified herself as the HR Director of the business and signed a form certifying a person who was not an employee suffered a disabling injury, rendering them unable to work.

Perkey-Pratt was booked into the Sumner County jail and charged with four counts of theft over $1,000, theft under $500 and filing a fraudulent insurance claim. Her bond was set at $50,000.
