Dash cam video shows chase, arrest of Nashville rape suspect in Chattanooga

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Newly-released dash cam video shows the final moments of the chase and arrest of a Nashville rape suspect.

Cordarius Caldwell is accused of raping a woman in the early morning hours of Feb. 24 at a home in Madison.

According to Metro police, he fled the scene when they arrived and stole a car from a nearby gas station.

Authorities in Chattanooga later spotted the car he was driving and a chase ensued. Caldwell ultimately came to a stop on the side of Interstate 24.

He was charged with aggravated rape, false imprisonment, vehicle theft and evading arrest following the alleged rape at gunpoint.

Another man, Zachery Hunter, was also arrested in connection to the case on charges of aggravated rape and false imprisonment for allegedly knowing the sexual assault was taking place and not attempting to stop it or render aid to the victim.

Both men remain in the Metro jail and are being held in lieu of bond.
