NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper announced Wednesday a new Nashville courthouse has been approved.
Approval by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure was the final step in the legislative process
In a release, Cooper stated that Nashville has needed a new courthouse for more than 20 years.
“I thank the committee chairman for recognizing this urgency. With the funding hurdle out of the way, the long-awaited building process can finally begin,” he said.
The new courthouse will provide needed security and more space.
It is unclear when work will begin on the project.
