LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was taken into custody when he allegedly led officers on a pursuit after firing shots at a Lebanon motel Monday night.
It happened at the Travel Inn in the 900 block of Murfreesboro Road around 10 p.m.
According to a release, a woman staying at the motel told officers she was in the restroom in a unit when she heard shouting and gunshots.
Bullet holes were found in the motel door, windows and a vehicle but no one was injured during the incident.
Lebanon police reported Derrick Frazier, 19, of Nashville, was staying with the woman in the room and returned gunfire before fleeing in a black Kia.
The woman told officers where she believed Frazier lived and officers located him as he was exiting his apartment complex.
According to Lebanon police, Frazier led police on a pursuit for several miles on Interstate 40 West and State Route 840 before crashing into a concrete median on Stewarts Ferry Pike.
Frazier reportedly attempted to flee his crashed vehicle on foot but was taken into custody by a Wilson County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Frazier was booked into the Wilson County jail and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, vandalism, tampering with evidence, weapons possession, evading and resisting arrest and driving without a license.
