CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – One person was killed in a wrong-way collision in Montgomery County that closed Interstate 24 East early Wednesday morning.
It happened near Exit 4 around 1:45 a.m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol told News 2 a commercial vehicle was on I-24 East and collided with a car that made a U-turn in the median and began traveling west in the eastbound lanes.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was killed in the crash.
All eastbound lanes were closed while the THP investigated.
Traffic was diverted at Exit 4 and rerouted back onto the interstate at Exit 8.
The roadway reopened to traffic around 5:45 a.m.
