NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Nashville rang in 2016 in a big way, setting a new record for New Year’s Eve direct visitor spending.
The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation reports visitors spent $22.2 million in the Nashville area. That number represents a 28% increase over 2014’s record numbers.
The Jack Daniel’s Bash on Broadway also set a record with 24,346 hotel rooms sold, a sell-out for the city and the most ever recorded on New Year’s Eve.
An estimated 150,000 people attended the event.
In addition to spending, Visitors Corporation reports the event generated $1.02 million in national advertising value.
