CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Deputies are asking for information after an over-capacity party was broken up in Clarksville over the weekend.
It happened after the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says they received six 911 calls concerning a “loud disturbance” at the Cumberland Room Friday night into Saturday morning.
Upon arriving, deputies say they spoke with the event’s organizer who indicated there were over 400 people inside and another 100 waiting outside to get in.
The event center’s legal capacity is 320, so the County Fire Marshall was called to the scene.
Authorities say as the event organizer was shutting down the party and individuals were leaving, shots were fired.
Deputies allegedly recovered 26 shell casings from three handguns, a 9 millimeter, 40 caliber, and 45 caliber.
Two firearms were also recovered at the scene, a 9 millimeter hand gun and 357 revolver.
Anyone with any information concerning the incident is asked to contact Investigator William Wall at 931-648-0611 ext. 13415 or Crime Stoppers at 931-645-8477.
